India won two of their training matches and dominated both their FIH Pro League experiences against the ruling Olympic Champions Argentina recently.
"The Argentina visit was a significant encounter for us all. We were longing for legitimate match practice while developing towards the Olympics," Nilakanta said in a Hockey India discharge.
"Our arrangements for the Olympics began a year ago in the FIH Pro League, where we fared well against World Champions Belgium, Netherlands, and Australia.
"We additionally had a strong visit through Europe recently. That gave us the certainty that we could confront the best groups and beat the competition," he added.
The Indian men's group had stayed unbeaten in the visit through Europe a month ago. Making an amazing re-visitation of global hockey, India had outmatched Germany 6-1 preceding playing out a 1-1 draw against them.
